Legal 500: “excellent for public law” and “among the strongest sets in the area of public law”.
Chambers & Partners: “an excellent chambers” and “the quality of work is exceptional”.
Public law involves the rules that govern the way all aspects of government interact with citizens, companies, non-governmental organisations, public bodies and other governments. It covers everything from the grant of telecommunication licences to major corporates, all aspects of the law of the NHS through to the rules affecting the detention of asylum seekers. Each area has its own complex set of rules but there are overriding principles of public law which govern how public bodies are required to act.
Counsel at Landmark have national and international reputations for handling complex public law cases and providing advice on public law issues for government departments, local government, other public bodies, NGOs, charities and individuals. Government action is required to respect the human rights of those affected by its decisions. We have particular expertise in bringing and defending all aspects of human rights claims in whatever context they arise.
The sections on the right hand side describe some (but by no means all) of the specialist areas where Landmark counsel appear have particular expertise.
Our public lawyers have, between them, a huge depth of experience. Please contact our Practice Managers to discuss any aspect of public law, however specialised, in order to understand more about the range of areas where Landmark counsel advise and appear in courts and tribunals.
Landmark Chambers offers a ‘Who Pays?’ service – a new dispute resolution offering designed to assist public bodies in resolving disputes about which public body should meet the cost of providing health or social care services to a patient or service user.
