Planning

Minerals and Waste

Members of Landmark’s planning group advise and represent clients across the full range of minerals-related work. They have advised on planning policy for minerals and energy (for instance in the NPPF and NPPG, as well as many minerals local plans) and are in the forefront of advisory work on on-shire and off-shore minerals extraction around the UK, at the minerals planning and planning application stages.

Overview

Landmark members have advised and represented stakeholders in all parts of minerals work, from those promoting new mines (for instance the Whitehaven coal mine in Cumbria) to exploratory minerals work (for instance coal bed methane and fracking cases such as Preston New Road Action Group). We have extensive experience of the consenting regimes for all types of minerals from the application stage through to High Court litigation on minerals.
