South Oxfordshire EiP hearings close

The scheduled hearings into the South Oxfordshire Local Plan have finished. The hearings lasted 4 weeks and were held online. The EiP was the first in the country to be conducted remotely. The Plan has proved very controversial politically, resulting in the intervention of the Secretary of State, and in terms of its proposals for the release of strategic sites in the Green Belt to help meet the unmet needs of Oxford City, as well as further large scale allocations at Culham, Berinsfield and Chalgrove Airfield. Robert Walton QC acted for South Oxfordshire DC. Rupert Warren QC acted for the promoters of the largest Green Belt release allocation in the plan, Land South of Grenoble Road.
