Land at Gray’s Avenue, Langdon Mills, Basildon

S174 appeal concerning one pitch for gypsy caravans in the Green Belt. The site was in an area of scattered residential development in the Green Belt but could be seen in extensive views of open countryside.  It was accepted that there was a high level of unmet need in the Borough, but the local planning authority was intending to allocate land for a large number of gypsy pitches in an emerging local plan.   The Inspector allowed the appeal.
