Inquiry

Culworth Photovoltaic Park Inquiry (November 2011/March & October 2012)

The first appeal heard at Inquiry in relation to an application for planning permission for a solar photovoltaic park (on 7.7ha of farmland in Northamptonshire). Appeal recovered by Secretary of State because he considered it to involve proposals of major significance for the delivery of the Government’s climate change programme and energy policies. Involved detailed examination of planning, landscape and visual, renewable energy and grid connection issues and extensive legal submissions on EIA matters. Graeme was instructed by the owners and promoters of the scheme, which was opposed by the local planning authority and a local residents’ group. The Secretary of State allowed the appeal and granted planning permission on 4th March 2013.
