High profile challenge to the allocation of a 1,500 urban extension to the historic town of Newmarket in the Forest Heath Core Strategy on the basis that it was adopted in breach of the requirements of the Strategic Environmental Assessment Directive. At this interim hearing, Lord Carlile of Berriew QC (sitting as a Deputy High Court Judge) gave judgment on expedition, the proper parties to be joined and the princples applicable in relation to interim relief in such cases.
