Case

Rowley v Secretary of State for Work and Pensions

At issue in this case was whether the child support agency could be liable for negligence for its acts and omissions. I represented the Secretary of State of Work and Pensions and successfully got the claim struck out. This decision was upheld by the Court of Appeal in what was treated as being a test case on the potential negligence liability of the Child Support Agency. I was led in the Court of Appeal by Nigel Giffin QC.
