Case

King's Lynn & West Norfolk Council v Michelle Paula Bunning [2016] EWCA Civ 1037

A judge had been entitled not to order costs in favour of a defendant in respect of whom an application for committal for contempt had been dismissed. He had been entitled to have regard to the fact that the defendant was legally aided when deciding to end the proceedings rather than risk wasting public money by considering the issues in the case for the purposes of making a costs order. Appeared for the defendant on the appeal.
