Yaaser Vanderman has launched his new website - https://protestinjunctions.com – where you will shortly be able to obtain the newest version of his Manual on Protest Injunctions (2024).

What exactly is the Manual?

In January 2023, Yaaser Vanderman released a free, online resource entitled Manual on Protest Injunctions: Practice, Procedure and Persons Unknown. It is a practical, hands-on guide to all parties involved in claims seeking protest injunctions. With a Foreword from Lord Carnwath, it deals with all of the fundamental issues, including Notice, Service, Interim Injunctions, Persons Unknown, Human Rights and Committal applications.

Some major re-writes have been required following the Supreme Court judgment in Wolverhampton City Council v London Gypsies & Travellers [2024] 2 WLR 45 and the subsequent detailed analysis in Valero Energy Ltd v Persons Unknown [2024] EWHC 134 (KB). These cases have fundamentally moved the law on all injunctions involving "Persons Unknown", which will be most protest injunctions. The new version of the Manual, incorporating these changes, will be released in the coming weeks.
