Major B8/B2 scheme allowed on appeal

Planning permission has been granted on appeal following a public inquiry for a major new mixed warehouse (circa 522,000 sq. ft.) and office scheme (circa 28,000 sq. ft.) at Shire Oaks, Worksop, Bassetlaw.

The inquiry was held by Inspector Richard Aston BSc (Hons) DipTP MRTPI, who in addition to allowing the appeal also made a partial award of costs against the Council, on the basis that its decision to refuse the scheme on residential amenity grounds was unreasonable.

Robert Walton KC acted at the Inquiry for the Appellants, Tungsten Worksop Ltd, Hallam Land Management and Paul Blagg, instructed by Eleanor Overton at Pegasus.
