At its AGM on 18th April, the Rating Surveyors' Association elected Luke Wilcox as an Honorary Member.
The RSA is a professional organisation for experienced Chartered Surveyors' who specialise in non-domestic rating. Established in 1909, the RSA has over 600 members drawn from both the public and private sectors, including many of the leaders in the profession.
In addition to its surveyor members, the RSA has around 30 honorary members, who are nominated by the RSA committee on the basis of their “position, experience, eminence or worthiness” in the field of rating. The body of RSA honorary members consists mostly of specialist rating KCs, senior partners in law firms, and members of the specialist rating judiciary.
Luke’s election follows his provision of advice and support to the RSA during the passage through Parliament of the Non-Domestic Rating Act 2023. Luke’s advice was referred to in Parliament and recorded in Hansard.
Luke is the only practising junior barrister to hold RSA honorary membership.
