The final of Landmark Chambers’ annual Judicial Review Moot competition was held virtually with The Rt Hon Lord Carnwath of Notting Hill, CVO and David Elvin QC presiding and we would like to commend all of the competitors for their versatility when adapting to mooting via video conference. We would like to congratulate the two winning competitors, Chatura Saravanan and James Fowler from City, University of London. Commenting on yesterday’s final David Elvin QC, Chair of the Environment Group at Landmark Chambers, and Zack Simons, planning barrister at Landmark Chambers, said: "We were delighted to be able to continue with the moot final despite lockdown and were impressed that all of the participants dealt with the requirements of remote advocacy really well. We thought the standard was very high and congratulate all the participants and especially City, University of London for winning the competition. Landmark hopes that they enjoyed the competition and have seen the interest and enjoyment that can be found in a practice in Planning, Environment and Public Law at the Bar.” David Elvin QC "It was another fantastic year for the Landmark Judicial Review Moot competition. We were incredibly impressed by the standard of the participants. What made it unique, of course, was the need to conduct this year’s moots virtually, however our mooting teams rose to that challenge with style and great skill. Well done to everyone who took part. Thank you to Lord Carnwath and David Elvin QC for presiding over our grand finale. We’re looking forward to another brilliant competition next year!” Zack Simons Landmark Chambers would like to thank all of the competitors for taking part and making the competition a success – Birkbeck, University of London BPP University Brunel University City, University of London Goldsmiths, University London King's College London London Southbank University Manchester Metropolitan University Nottingham Trent University Queen Mary University of London The Inns of Court College of Advocacy The Open University The University of Law, (Bristol) University College London University of Brighton University of Bristol University of Buckingham University of Cambridge University of Cardiff University of Durham University of Edinburgh University of Keele University of Kent University of Leicester University of Manchester University of Newcastle University of Northumbria University of Nottingham University of Oxford University of Reading University of Swansea University of Warwick University of Westminster University of Winchester University of York If you would like to register your interest in participating in the Landmark Chambers Judicial Review Moot Competition 2021/2022, please email: Please note that Landmark Chambers will only accept one team per University and would therefore prefer to be contacted by a member of faculty, or the person responsible for the organisation of external moots.
