Planning and environment barrister Hashi Mohamed (2010 Call) has become a member of Landmark Chambers, joining the planning and environment groups.
Hashi will take up his practice at Landmark in late September following a period of paternity leave. He undertakes all aspects of planning and environmental work with a focus on major development, infrastructure, enforcement and compulsory purchase work. He represents many leading housebuilders, and SMEs, as well local planning authorities and community groups. He regularly appears in hearings, inquiries, local plan examinations and in the High Court and Court of Appeal.
He is a published author of two books 'People Like Us: What it Takes to Make It in Modern Britain' (2020) (Radio 4 Book of the Week) and 'A Home of One's Own: Why the Housing Crisis Matters'(2022) and regularly appears on TV, radio shows and podcasts, and is a commentator in national publications. Hashi is the Chair of Coin St Housing Cooperative on the South Bank, responsible for 220 high quality affordable social housing, including in the OXO Tower.
He is ranked for planning by Legal 500 with clients saying 'His engaging character helps to get judges and planning inspectors on side' and '[He is] enthusiastic and [has] a friendly approach'. Hashi also appears in Planning magazine's 2023 list of top ten planning juniors at the UK Bar.
