Ellodie Gibbons joins Landmark Chambers

Welcome EG

Ellodie Gibbons (1999 Call) has joined Landmark Chambers. She has a specialist property practice, for which she is recognised as a leading practitioner in both Chambers UK and the Legal 500. Ellodie’s principal area of practice is residential landlord and tenant law with a particular emphasis on leasehold enfranchisement. However, she deals with all areas of landlord and tenant work - both commercial and residential - real property disputes and related professional negligence.

In addition to her private practice, Ellodie is currently assisting the Law Commission with the wholesale reform of the enfranchisement legislation, in particular as to the provisions for the enfranchisement valuation methodology in a new Leasehold Reform Bill.

Ellodie regularly speaks and writes on landlord and tenant matters, including for the RICS and Estates Gazette. She is a contributor to ‘Service Charges and Management’ (Sweet & Maxwell) and is co-author of ‘Leasehold Enfranchisement Explained’ (RICS Publishing). In 2011 Ellodie was named Barrister of the Year at the Enfranchisement & Right to Manage Awards and was Highly Commended in the same category in 2014.

Ellodie said: “Landmark’s property group includes an impressive range of barristers covering the whole range of property advice and litigation. I’m very pleased and excited to be joining chambers and look forward to getting to know colleagues and clients in the weeks and months to come.”

Landmark Chief Executive Paul Newhall said: “Ellodie has a strong reputation in the market place.  Her particular area of specialisation in enfranchisement is a real benefit to Landmark’s clients and strengthens our offer across all levels of seniority in this area. Her general property practice is wide ranging and we’re looking forward to working with her.”
