Controversial Trinity College site removed from draft Suffolk Coastal Local Plan

Following an examination in public which took place in August 2019, an Inspector has recommended that the allocation of the controversial site known as Innocence Farm for a logistics park should be removed from the draft Suffolk Coastal Local Plan as the allocation was not justified.  The promotion of this 67 ha site by Trinity College for employment use in the form of a logistics park to serve the port of Felixstowe sparked the protest by Extinction Rebellion which is currently reported in the national press.  Overall the Inspector found that subject to various main modifications including the removal of this site the plan was “likely to be capable of being legally compliant and sound”. A link to the Inspector’s letter is below: Suffolk Coastal Local Plan Post Hearings Letter. James Neill represented a joint group of 4 parish councils at the examination in public in their successful objection to this allocation.
