Cobbe v Yeoman's Row Limited [2005] EWHC 266; [2006] 1 W.L.R. 2964 and House of Lords (judgment pending)

Myriam Stacey appeared on behalf of the claimant property developer in the High Court, Court of Appeal and House of Lords. The claim was founded on proprietary estoppel claim and arose in the context of pre-contractual negotiations for the sale, purchase and development of a block of flats in Knightsbridge. The claim raised issues of proprietary estoppel, constructive trust, the question and extent of appropriate equitable relief and the ambit and extent of section 2(5) of the LPA(MP) Act 1989. The claimant was awarded a half share of the increase in value of a property after planning permission was granted.
