On 13th-15th September the Aarhus Convention Compliance Committee will consider two Communications alleging non-compliance by the UK with the terms of the Convention. On 14 September the Committee will consider complaint ACCC/C/2017/150, in which Friends of the Earth alleges the UK should have consulted on the draft text of the European Union (Withdrawal) Bill 2017, before it was introduced into Parliament. The day before, on 13 September, the committee will consider the admissibility of Communication PRE/ACCC/C/2022/194, in which a number of communicants (including the WWF and Greenpeace) allege the UK’s consultation processes during the negotiation of free-trade agreements falls below what is required by the Convention.
