A constitutional challenge by Jason Jones to sections 13 and 16 of Trinidad’s Sexual Offences Act 1986 was heard by Judge Rampersad in the High Court on 30th January. A major issue in the case is whether the laws are protected by an “existing law” provision in the constitution.
Judgment will be given on 12th April.
