We would like to congratulate Myriam Stacey QC, Jenny Wigley QC and Gwion Lewis QC on their appointment as Queen’s Counsel today. Their appointments bring the number of silks at Landmark to 36. She practices across all courts in England and Wales including CA, High Court, UT, County Court, FTT, arbitrations and expert determinations, and is valued for her technical ability, commercial approach, leadership skills and extensive experience as a trial advocate. The legal directories have described her as “an excellent and persuasive advocate”, and “intellectually very strong, very forceful on her feet and reassuring to clients”. A former solicitor, Jenny’s practice is focused on planning and environmental law and non-domestic rating. She appears regularly in planning inquiries and in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court in judicial review and statutory review claims including those related to adequate consultation, legitimate expectation, heritage, Habitats Regulations, EIA, SEA, air quality, s.106 obligations and conditions, the GPDO, enforcement, interpretation of policy and adequacy of reasons. On the non-domestic rating side, her practice includes cases in the Valuation Tribunal, Upper Tribunal (Lands Chamber) and the Higher Courts. She is described by Chambers & Partners as “good on her feet, has facts at her fingertips and deals well with searching questions from the Bench”. Gwion specialises in public law and judicial review (including immigration, human trafficking, education, equality and discrimination law, detention, electoral law, transport, standards and ethics, care standards and property-related public law), planning and compulsory purchase, environmental, EU and public international law. He regularly acts for the UK Government in its most complex cases, as well as for private and public sector clients at inquiries and has extensive experience of judicial review proceedings and appeals in the higher courts. The directories describe him as “an intellectual star” and “a fearless litigator”.
