Healthcare web

The Supreme Court has granted permission to appeal in the case of KV (Sri Lanka) v SSHD [2017] EWCA Civ 119. The case concerns the approach to medical evidence in asylum cases where the appellant claims he has been tortured and an alternative explanation of the scars is raised, i.e. injuries voluntarily inflicted under general anaesthesia (self inflicted by proxy or "SIBP"). The Court of Appeal, by a majority, had dismissed KV's appeal. Richard Drabble QC (leading Ronan Toal) represents the Appellant.
