The Secretary of State has allowed Sainsbury’s appeal for a major redevelopment in Ilford Town Centre, accepting that the development would bring substantial benefits and that the provision of 27 affordable housing units was the maximum reasonable. Timothy Corner QC appeared for Sainsbury’s and Neil Cameron QC appeared for the Council.
