Landmark Chambers will be hosting a webinar on Monday 8th June, 2020 at 4:00pm – 5:15pm to discuss EU free movement law and the EU settlement scheme.
This webinar will cover a range of issues of interest to immigration and social security lawyers advising EU national clients in the UK. Matthew Fraser will provide an update on the operation of the EU Settlement Scheme with a focus on areas where difficulties are arising in practice. Alex Shattock will speak on Fratila v Secretary of State for Work and Pensions [2020] EWHC 998 (Admin) which addresses access to means tested benefits for those granted pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme. Finally, Tim Buley QC will consider some of the broader implications of Brexit going forward, including the preservation of EU rights and the applicability of the Charter of Fundamental Rights.
