Kensington High Street

An Inspector has granted planning permission for the redevelopment and demolition of the 4th and 5th floors of a large office block on Kensington High Street, opposite Holland Park, to provide 2 new floors for residential use (comprising 4 large apartments), without requiring Affordable Housing provision either on or off-site. The contentious issue in this case was whether the appeal site would have the capacity to provide 10 or more smaller units for residential accommodation (per Policy 3A.10 and 3A.11 and the proper application of the density matrix at Table 3A.2 of the London Plan). Graeme Keen appeared on behalf of Lionsgate Properties Limited.
