The inquiry into what will be Northern Ireland’s largest windfarm, if permitted, at Doraville in the Sperrins, concluded yesterday after 4 days of hearings, last week in Omagh and this week in Magherafelt, before the Planning Appeals Commission (Commissioner Julie de Courcey). The proposal by SSE is for 33 wind turbines which will include significant benefits in terms of reduction in carbon emissions, contribution to NI’s renewable energy, and restoration of areas of bog.
