A called-in inquiry begins today in relation to the proposed redevelopment of the Citroen Site, Capital Interchange Way, Brentford for a mixed use scheme of 441 residential units, various A class uses and a nursery comprising buildings of 12, 13, 16, 17 and 18 storeys. The local planning authority resolved to refuse planning permission for a number of reasons including heritage impact on the Kew Gardens World Heritage Site and the Grade I listed Orangery. The Mayor called-in the application and following amendments resolved to grant permission. The application was then called-in by the Secretary of State. The inquiry is due to run until 7 February 2020. Rupert Warren QC is appearing for the Applicant, L&Q, instructed by Pinsent Masons.
