Second Paddington Cube judicial review fails

The High Court has rejected a second judicial review claim brought in respect of Westminster City Council’s decision to grant planning permission and listed building consent for the development of the Paddington Cube.  The Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (the operator of St Mary’s Paddington) had sought to argue that the Council had failed to consider the scheme’s highways impacts properly, in particular in terms of its impact on the hospital’s “blue light” route.  Holgate J has rejected the claim as unarguable.  Robert Walton acted for the developers, Great Western Developments Ltd and Sellar Paddington Ltd, instructed by Sarah Fitzpatrick at BLP LLP.
