This was the first case to deal with certification and internal relocation for Nigerian women. The claimant Nigerian national (U) had applied for judicial review of the decision of the secretary of state to certify her application for asylum as clearly unfounded pursuant to the Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002 s.94(2). The application was refused. David Blundell represented the Secretary of State for the Home Department.
