R (on the application of Hockerill Anglo-European College Academy Trust) v Schools Adjudictor & (1) Secretary of State for Education (2) Hertfordshire CC

The School Admissions Code set out the definitions for day pupils and boarders and a college was obliged to comply with the code and its definitions, including those contained in footnotes. A college could not treat pupils that it referred to as day boarders, as boarders, because they did not stay overnight at the college. Acted for the Office of the Schools Adjudicator.
