The Court of Appeal has upheld the judgment of Silber J on legislation brought in by the Home Secretary designed to limit the ability of people with limited leave to be in the UK to marry. The Court agreed with submissions made on behalf of the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants that the rules breached Article 12 of the Convention (right to marry).
