High Court rejects Ryde School JR

The High Court (Justine Thornton QC, sitting as a Deputy High Court Judge) has dismissed the claim for judicial review brought in respect of the Isle of Wight Council’s decision to grant permission for a new boarding house at Ryde School with Upper Chine.  The claim was brought on four grounds, including a failure to carry out Appropriate Assessment following People over Wind, and the adequacy of the mitigation measures proposed pursuant to the Solent Recreation Mitigation Strategy.
