Planning web

In a decision, dated 29 January 2020, the Secretary of State has decided to make the Transport and Works Act Order that would reinstate and upgrade the railway line between Bicester and Bedford, including new stations and platforms on the route. It is a £1bn development. This section constitutes a major part of the overall East-West Rail scheme which, when completed, will reinstate the railway line between Oxford and Cambridge. It is a fundamental part of the Government’s ambition for the Oxford-Cambridge Arc. Tim Mould QC and Yaaser Vanderman, instructed by Winckworth Sherwood, acted for the promoter Network Rail in the Inquiry that spanned 10 weeks from February-May 2019. Matthew Reed QC acted for O&H Properties.
