High Court said that the removal of appeal rights for Turkish citizens seeking to establish businesses in the UK was unlawful. The removal of appeal rights breached the “standstill” provisions breached the Ankara Agreement between Turkey and the EU, which the UK had entered into when it joined the EEC and thus was contrary to law. Holman J quashed the individual decision.
