Tonight Landmark Chambers is hosting a seminar on Strategic Environmental Assessment (“SEA”). This is a particularly hot topic in the light of the Supreme Court’s decision in Walton v Scottish Ministers  [2012] UKSC 44 and the forthcoming judicial review challenges to the Government’s HS2 decisions in January of this year.

Tonight James Maurici is speaking on the expanding scope of the SEA Directive following cases such as Inter-Environnment Bruxelles. Charlie Banner is speaking on SEA Pitfalls – lessons from recent cases. Dr William Sheate from Imperial College London is speaking on SEA in practice - making assessment count.

The seminar is being chaired by David Elvin QC.
