Margherita Cornaglia speaks at Oxford Handbook of…

Margherita Cornaglia took part in the launch of the Oxford Handbook of Climate Change and Private Law, held at LSE’s Marshall Building.

The event marked the publication of the landmark Handbook, which brings together leading academics and practitioners to examine the role private law can play in addressing climate change. Opening remarks were delivered by Lord Sales, Deputy President of the UK Supreme Court, before a panel discussion featuring contributors and experts from across the legal and academic communities.

Margherita joined fellow panellists Michael Gerrard (Columbia Law School), Franziska Arnold-Dwyer (UCL) and Kim Bouwer (Durham University) to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing private law in responding to the climate crisis.

The Handbook explores how climate change affects, and is affected by, private law, considering topics including tort, contract, corporate law and climate litigation.
