Margherita Cornaglia is instructed in a landmark OECD complaint against WPP, the world’s largest advertising and PR firm, over its role in promoting high-polluting industries. Filed by the New Weather Institute and Adfree Cities, the complaint accuses WPP of contributing to environmental and human rights harms through its advertising and lobbying services.
It alleges that WPP’s work for fossil fuel, automotive, and plastics clients violates the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and contradicts WPP’s own sustainability commitments by driving demand for carbon-intensive products.
