Landmark Chambers is pleased to announce a set of Women in Law Pledges that will run through to 2030, reaffirming our commitment to strengthening the progression, representation and leadership of women across Chambers.

These pledges form part of a long-term strategy to support female barristers and staff at every stage of their careers, and to promote meaningful, measurable change within the profession.

Landmark Chambers commits to:

  1. Supporting career development through opportunities for internal and external career coaching;
  2. Supporting five female members in taking Silk by 2030, including through tailored mentoring and strategic practice support;
  3. Strengthening gender representation within the Practice team, by:
  • Aiming to employ at least one female clerk at the Senior Practice Manager level, and
  • Aiming to achieve equal numbers of female and male clerks at the Practice Manager and Assistant Practice Manager levels.

These pledges build on the success of the 2020 - 2025 commitments and reflect Landmark Chambers’ belief that sustained progress requires structured support, intentional leadership development, and clear accountability.

Andrew Byass, Head of Landmark’s Equality, Diversity and Wellbeing Committee, commented, “We are committed to ensuring that women at Landmark have the support, visibility and opportunities they need to thrive and to lead. These pledges represent practical steps towards building a more equitable and representative profession. We look forward to working collaboratively across the Bar to advance equality and to support the next generation of women leaders in law.”
