Landmark Chambers is delighted to announce that Jon Wills and Leon Glenister have been appointed King’s Counsel, marking a significant milestone in their legal careers and recognising their excellence in advocacy.

The appointments, announced as part of the latest King’s Counsel list, reflect their outstanding professional achievements, depth of legal expertise, and longstanding contributions to the legal profession. Achieving Silk is widely regarded as one of the highest honours for practising barristers, reserved for those who demonstrate exceptional skill, integrity, and leadership at the Bar.

Jon Wills, called to the Bar in 2006, is a leading barrister specialising in property and planning law, frequently instructed on cases at the intersection of these disciplines. He has particular expertise in disputes involving the Electronic Communications Code and regularly advises on complex issues relating to development, infrastructure, and land use.

Described by Chambers & Partners as “an incisive and persuasive legal mind”, Jon was named Technology, Data and Crypto Junior of the Year at the Legal 500 UK Bar Awards in 2025 and is the author of The Electronic Communications Code: A Guide for Property Lawyers (Bloomsbury, 2025).

Leon Glenister, called to the Bar in 2011, is a leading public law barrister, ranked by Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 in five practice areas, including Public, Education, and Planning law. Described as “one of the best public lawyers of his generation”, Leon is recognised for his work on complex, high-profile cases, including appearances before the Supreme Court and the European Court of Human Rights.

He is a member of the Attorney General’s A Panel and has been shortlisted for three Legal 500 UK Bar Awards. Leon is also a co-author of NHS Law and Practice (LAG, 2024) and the Noddy Guide to SEN and has taught Administrative Law at the University of Cambridge since 2013.

Tim Morshead KC and Jenny Wigley KC, Joint Heads of Chambers, praised both appointments:

“Jon and Leon are exceptional advocates, known for their rigorous approach to complex cases, their commitment to clients, and their influence within their respective practice areas. Their appointments bring the number of King’s Counsel at Landmark Chambers to 45, underscoring not only individual merit but also the strength and depth of the set.”

Commenting on his appointment, Jon Wills said:

“I am deeply honoured to be appointed King’s Counsel. I am grateful for the support of my colleagues and clerks at Landmark Chambers, and for the trust placed in me by my clients. It is a privilege to practise in areas of law that are both challenging and evolving, and I look forward to the next stage of my career.”

Leon Glenister added:

"Taking silk is more than an individual exercise - it is a team game and this achievement is reflective of the best possible support, mentorship and practice management I’ve had in Chambers; as well as wonderful clients who I’ve learned a lot from and shared some great moments. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this moment.".
