Today, an inquiry opens into an appeal scheme to redevelop Redhill Station. The scheme would deliver 255 dwellings, in two buildings ranging from 10-15 and 7-14 storeys, together with improvements to the existing station.
The inquiry is scheduled to sit for two weeks. The core issues will be the impact on the heritage and townscape impacts of the scheme and whether the Council can demonstrate a five-year supply of housing sites.
The inquiry will be an early test of the interaction between the 2024 NPPF standard method and recently reviewed development plans.
Dr Ashley Bowes appears for Reigate & Banstead Borough Council.
