Nottingham Inquiry begins

LC news item pattern 10

Formal hearings began today in the Public Inquiry into the 2023 Nottingham attacks, which tragically claimed the lives of three people and left three others seriously injured in Nottingham city centre. The inquiry is chaired by Her Honour Deborah Taylor and is expected to continue until early June.

The inquiry will seek to establish a clear account of the events, actions and omissions that led to the attacks on 13 June 2023. It will place prosecutors, police and medical professionals under scrutiny to determine whether any failings contributed to the release of the individual responsible for the offences.

Fiona Scolding KC is acting for the Department of Health and Social Care.

Carine Patry KC is acting for Nottingham University.
