An appeal by Berkeley Homes (Oxford and Chiltern) Ltd against Reading Borough Council’s refusal of permission for a residential development of 209 homes on the banks of the Thames has been allowed by the Inspector. The appeal site is in a key location between the town centre and the river. The Council refused permission on design, highways, heritage, noise, landscape and ecology grounds, all of which were rejected by the Inspector after an inquiry lasting four weeks. The appellant was represented by Tim Corner QC and Alex Shattock. Click here for the decision.
