Justin Bates appointed to the “Future of Westminster” commission

Homelessness

Following the local elections in May 2022, Westminster City Council returned a Labour administration for the first time in its history. The new administration has established the “Future of Westminster” commission to carry out a “root and branch” review of how the council can best serve the interests of residents. This includes a review of homelessness and housing need in the borough. The commission is tasked making recommendations for the allocation of social housing in the borough (Part 6, Housing Act 1996) and the use of temporary accommodation to support homeless persons (Part 7, Housing Act 1996). Justin Bates has been appointed to serve on the Homelessness and Housing Need committee as part of the review. More information is available here.
