The Government’s response to the Fingleton Nuclear Taskforce highlights a clear commitment to reforming the Habitats Regulations regime as part of a wider drive to speed up consenting, with a number of proposed changes now emerging. Some of these measures are already progressing through the Government’s on-going consultation on updates to its Guidance on the Habitats Regulations process, with consultee responses invited by 19 May.
Richard Turney KC, Matt Fox and Imogen Dewar will walk through the latest proposals, explore what could come next, and unpack what this means for projects currently moving forward. We will also look at where further reform may be on the horizon - all of which may help you shape a well-informed response to the Government’s consultation.
