Charles Banner QC, together with Tetyana Nesterchuk of Fountain Court Chambers, has this week travelled to Kazakhstan, where the new Astana International Finance Centre common law Court was launched in 2018, to provide training to over 140 Kazakh legal professionals in Nur-Sultan and Almaty on the role of the advocate, and of other professionals working with their client’s advocate(s), in common law commercial disputes. Their ‘Common Law Advocacy Masterclass’ was commissioned by the  Astana International Finance Centre Court, to ensure that Kazakh lawyers have the knowledge and skills required to represent parties at the AIFC Court. It took place on 20-21 June in Nur-Sultan and 23-24 June in Almaty.
