14 year old girl challenges police hate crime guidance
A 14 year old girl has issued a judicial review against the College of Policing in respect of its guidance on the recording of non-hate crime incidents. The claimant (known as Miss B) alleges that the recording of such incidents represents a breach of the Data Protection Act 2018, her rights under Articles 8 & 10 ECHR and the Public Sector Equality Duty.
The claim has been widely reported in the press: see here, here and here.
