Chambers & Partners 2011 describes both the quality and variety of property barristers in chambers as excellent and says of our team that they are “legally accomplished and very sociable in all their dealings”. We pride ourselves on our ability to offer a comprehensive and user friendly service across all aspects of this area of law.
Many members of our 31 strong property law team including our 8 specialist property silks are not only rated in the legal directories as leaders in their field but frequently appear before the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court in arguing high profile property cases that have resulted in landmark decisions such as Cobbe v Yeoman’s Row Management Ltd and Secretary of State for EFRA v Meier.
Our property specialists often work closely with our planning and public law barristers and as a chambers we are able to “straddle both property and planning law with equal felicity” (Legal 500). We are ideally placed to handle high profile property cases involving public law issues, which we often do for public authorities, such as the Parliament Square case in which one of our members acted for the Mayor of London. Our previous clients include Madonna and Guy Ritchie in their dispute with ramblers on their Wiltshire estate. High profile buildings such as the London Eye, the Saatchi Gallery, and Wembley Stadium have featured in our caseload and we deal with the full range of property issues affecting a variety of different types of premises with expertise.
