Russell Harris QC and Neil Cameron QC successful in promotion of the Beetham Tower

The Secretary of State granted planning permission today for the Beetham Tower (also known as No 1 Blackfriars). The tower which is 175 m high will sit at the bridgehead to Blackfriars Bridge. The tower was supported by CABE but opposed by the Mayor of London, Westminster City Council and English Heritage.
At a public inquiry into the proposals, Russell Harris QC appeared for the developer along with Neil Cameron QC. They were instructed by Herbert Smith.
