Inquiry into 125m high wind turbines opens in Oxfordshire
DATE: 16 Mar 2010An eight-day public inquiry is under way in Oxfordshire to hear an appeal against the refusal of planning permission for four wind turbines near Bicester.
The case is attracting considerable interest because of the height of the turbines at 125m to blade tip, close to the villages of Fewcott, Ardley and Fritwell, but adjacent to the M40. The local planning authority, Cherwell District Council, has also expressed particular concern about the impact of the scheme on the setting of the Grade I listed Aynhoe Park Hall and the related parkland.
Gwion Lewis is appearing for Cherwell District Council. Reuben Taylor is appearing for a local resident who is concerned about the noise impact of the scheme.
