Liverpool Bill seeking to prevent smoking in places of work was taken through the early stages of promotion and was perceived as a substantial influence on the government's decision to take forward public general legislation. It involved examination of the medical and social consequences of passive smoking on employees. Further committee work included attending Crossrail for Local Authority petitioners including the City of Westminster addressing inter alia Paddington Station issues. Promotion of Bournemouth and Manchester Bills successfully seeking to control pedlars in those cities by bringing the regime into line with the street trading legislation.
