inquiries

Harry Stoke, South Gloucestershire

DATE: 19 Jun 2007

Three week inquiry into proposed 1,200 home development by Crest Nicholson (South West) in the northern fringe of Bristol.

The main issues before the inquiry were: whether the location of the proposed access road in the Green Belt was justified; the adequacy of the Design and Access Statement; whether sufficient provision had been made for public open space and affordable housing.

Christopher Lockhart-Mummery QC and Charles Banner appeared for Crest Nicholson.

Having considered the Inspector's report following the conclusion of the inquiry, on 20th December 2007 the Secretary of State granted outline planning permission for the proposed development.
