First inquiry into a notorious gypsy encampment at North Curry, Taunton established 'like a military operation' over a weekend in October 2004, with a planning application delivered to the Council offices at 4pm on the preceding Friday. The site covered 5 acres and involved 16 pitches. Jurisdiction was recovered. The appeal was dismissed and an enforcement notice upheld.
Richard Langham appeared for the local planning authority.
